Quality Control Program
All AESI laboratory analysis are performed
following proven standard analysis techniques. To insure quality,
AESI has developed a quality control program with the following
features.
- Compliance with approved EPA and NIOSH
methods for sample collection, preservation, storage, analysis,
and disposal.
- Participant in the National Accreditation
Program(NVLAP), Proficiency Analytical Testing(PAT) Program, EPA
Drinking Water Program, and Environmental Lead Laboratory Accreditation
(ELLAP).
- Quaterly participant in profiency rounds
administered by the New York Deparment of Health.
- Chain of Custody Record (COCR) is maintained
on all samples both during the collection phase of the work and
during the in-house analysis.
- Use of statistical parameters, or control
charts to monitor accuracy of analysis and overall laboratory
effectiveness.
- The foremost analytical instrument available
are used for analysis. Instrument Operation have received formal
training and are certified through results of performance evaluation
samples for their competence to use the analytical instruments.
- Use of reference collection of samples
to insure analyst accuracy.
- Monthly audits of mobile laboratory condition
and equipment, procedure, project record keeping, and reference
material.
- Method reagent blanks are analyzed at
a rate of one for every set of samples.
- Matrix spikes are analyzed at a rate of
at least one or 5% of the samples in a sample set with same or
similar matrix. Each type of matrix in a set is spiked at least
once.
- Reagent water blanks are analyzed at a
rate of one for every sample set.
- Duplicates samples matrix are analyzed
at a rate of 5%^ of the samples in a set.
- Quality Control check samples are analyzed
in duplicate at leats twice yearly.
- Completely files are maintained for analytical
sample certificates of analysis, reagent certificates, and sample
conatiner certificates.
- Complete hard copy of QA.QC files are
maintained for customer examination of each analysis.
